Dr. Harrington's research has covered a variety of topics over the past 10 years. Dr. Harrington has spent a large amount of time on parameterization of physical processes within numerical models. This has included:
In addition to development of numerical model parameterizations, Dr. Harrington has actively studied the interactions between microphysics, radiation, and turbulence within layered clouds. His interests are mainly dedicated to low lying stratus clouds over the arctic basin, however his interests range over many other topics (mesoscale meteorology, cloud-climate interactions, high latitude inversion formation etc.).
