PSUBAMS consists of three elected undergraduate or graduate student officers, a faculty adviser, and all interested undergraduate and graduate meteorology students. It meets approximately once a month.

Meetings usually feature a presentation by a guest speaker who may be a faculty member, a student, or a member of the outside professional world. The programs deal with aspects of meteorology that interest all levels of meteorology students. Meetings are always followed by refreshments and informal discussion.
