- The 2.70 inches of rain on 7 September is the wettest September day on record, breaking the 2.51 inch record set on the 29th in 1967.

- September 1996 was the second wettest month on record. Rainfall was 11.03 inches, second only to June 1972 when 12.82 inches fell, primarily due to remnants of hurricane Agnes.
